Located on one of the most exclusive streets in one of the most exclusive neighborhood’s in Lagos, The Wheatbaker is a luxury 5‐star boutique hotel which boasts the latest in retreat, leisure, and conferencing facilities. Originally the home of a very prominent baker. Themed restaurants, tranquil retreat zones, handcrafted furniture, and spacious user‐oriented designer bedrooms and suites are but a few of the features which characterize this chic redevelopment. In this project which was a collaboration between FMA and CO-ARC International architects(South-Africa), we sought to ensure that the post‐modernist facelift accentuates the warmth synonymous with the associated Legacy hotel chain, without discounting the functionality of the establishment ensuring that privacy, scenery and tranquility are very much at the core of the hotels experience.
